Ashoura at Noon

The day after the bloody Ashura protests in Tehran I read somewhere in the news: “We were beaten with batons, we were humiliated, they ran us over with vehicles, they targeted our hearts and pulled the trigger, but we still did not frown. But, our hearts did break when we saw people standing in long and crowded lines for the Ashura lunch. And it was more painful to see people from wealthy classes taking a lot of the food. Are these hungry people blind? Did they not see the real Ashura?”
